A letter from the INSROA Board President:

Distinguished Members of the Indiana School Resource Officers Association,

It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to serve as your President, as you serve the students and staff of your community.  Since the conclusion of our most attended conference in French Lick in July, the INSROA Board has been hard at work to ensure our members are adequately supported, and the conference becomes an even more dynamic experience.

The Board has cast a vision for the organization to “set the standard for school safety in Indiana.”  This vision has created within us a desire to be a mission-driven organization.

Our newly created mission: “To promote safe learning environments in Indiana schools by providing high quality training, building relationships, and connecting members to resources” is our driving force.

To make it simple, our focus is Training, Relationships, and Resources for our members.  The main ways we intend to carry out this mission is through hosting training throughout the state, promoting an accreditation process, and creating the best possible conference experience.

This year has been one of change and continuous strive for improvement.  Many people have expressed their astonishment at the quality of conference with only minimal membership fees as the sole source of revenue.  The Board has been resistant to the idea that we should charge for the conference in order to provide a better experience for our members. After much discussion centered on ensuring your membership is the most beneficial to you, and thus, the people you serve, INSROA has accepted the advice of experts around the country and will now be adding a nominal fee for the conference.  We are INSROA feel that the additional cost will be offset by the additional benefits.  Beginning in 2020, the cost for the conference, membership to INSROA and (NEW) membership to NASRO will be $149.  This fee will allow us to provide an exciting venue, useful swag, enjoyable member dinner, discounts at both on and off site entertainment.  We will strive to bring in the best speakers and to continue to remain as a sustainable organization.

I am personally grateful for your continued commitment to excellence in your profession, in school safety, in school-based policing, and the Indiana School Resource Officers Association.
